Hours of work: Full-time, Monday to Friday the role is based 5 days in the office

Job Purpose:

  • To provide the IT technical support necessary to carry out the installation, upgrading and maintenance of the Bank’s systems.
  • To attend to the daily operations of the Bank’s PCs, network and related systems and software.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Primary Technical Responsibilities
  • Desktop Configuration
    • The setup and configuration of new PC’s and laptops, the loading of desktop software and the configuration of printers
  • Help Desk
    • Provision of help desk support for all IT related systems
    • Liaising with suppliers on any resultant support calls
  • Provision of Microsoft 365 and Desktop support
  • Network Infrastructure
    • Daily maintenance and support
    • Troubleshoot connectivity and network related problems.
  • Vulnerability Management – Nessus Tenable
    • Carry out ongoing analysis to ensure that all necessary systems and hardware are included in scans carried out by Nessus Tenable are captured and stored for interrogation
    • Identify vulnerability issues from the reports and carry out remediation of vulnerabilities. Where additional technical expertise is required and allocate to internal SME’s or liaise with external consultants for assistance.
  • Network Security
    • Ensure that systems are kept up to date with the latest bug fixes, virus updates, utilities, patches and recommended upgrades.
    • Data loss prevention
    • Troubleshoot security related problems.
  • Software
    • Loading of upgrades, patches and system fixes to PC related banking systems
    • Upgrade of software and hardware patches to ensure we are on supported levels
  1. Secondary Technical Responsibilities
  • Active Directory\Group Policy
    • Setting up of new users, deletion of old users, amending of user rights
  • Email Systems
    • Administration of Exchange Servers
    • Troubleshoot email connectivity issues.
  • System Backups
    • The taking of system backups as and when required.
    • Ensure the backups of all appropriate systems are successful, and that restoration/recovery from such backups is possible.
  • CISCO Firepower
    • Provide backup for the primary CISCO Firepower SME
  • Palo Alto and Checkpoint Firewalls
    • Daily management and maintenance of Palo Alto Firewalls.
    • Provide backup for the primary Checkpoint SME
  • Cisco, HP & IBM switches
    • Provide backup for the primary Cisco, HP & IBM switch SME
    • Perform network switch configuration changes as required e.g. VLAN assignments, disable\enable ports etc
  • F5 Web Application Firewall/Load Balancers
    • Daily management and maintenance of F5.
  • Citrix Load Balancers
    • Daily management and maintenance of Citrix.
  • Konica/Minolta Multifunction Devices
    • Administration
    • Papercut administration
    • Troubleshooting
  • Audio Visual Equipment
    • Ongoing maintenance and support
    • Troubleshoot audio visual equipment problems and liaise with suppliers.
  1. Technical Responsibilities Shared with other IT department members.
  • Start and end of period processes.
    • The timely execution of the processes required to be undertaken at the start of day/month/year and the end of day/month/year business points.
  • VMWare
    • Provide backup for the primary VMWare SME
    • Daily management and maintenance of virtual infrastructure (VMware).
    • Upgrade of software and hardware patches to ensure we are on supported levels
  • Testing of endpoint security controls
  1. Primary Administrative Responsibilities
  • System Inventory
    • The keeping and regular updating of IT inventory to record the distribution of the Bank’s hardware and software
  • Administration of Banks hardware and software records
  • Management of vendor due diligence requests from Compliance.
  • Carrying out of all other duties as required and directed by senior management.

4. Administrative Responsibilities Shared with other IT department members

  • Maintain operational documentation to aid troubleshooting efforts and swift resolution of incidents.
  • Filing of System Access Request Forms
  • Assisting IT management with administration of maintenance contracts
  • General administration as required by the team

  • Microsoft Windows 10/11

  • Vulnerability management- ideally experience of Nessus Tenable vulnerability scanner
