National Bank of Egypt UK Ltd was proud to sponsor a prestigious reception hosted by the Egyptian Embassy in London to celebrate the long-awaited inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM).
Held at the British Museum on Saturday evening, the event brought together dignitaries, cultural leaders, and members of the Egyptian and British communities to mark one of the most significant cultural milestones in recent history.
Located on the Giza Plateau in Cairo, the Grand Egyptian Museum is the largest archaeological museum in the world dedicated to a single civilisation. It houses an extraordinary collection of artefacts from ancient Egypt, including the complete collection from the tomb of Tutankhamun. This marks the first time these treasures have been displayed together in their entirety.
The reception provided an opportunity to reflect on the global significance of Egypt’s rich heritage and its continued influence on art, history, and culture. Guests were treated to live performances by acclaimed Egyptian artists, adding to the spirit of celebration and cultural pride.
We were honoured by the presence of H.E. Ashraf Sweilam, Egypt’s newly appointed Ambassador to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, along with a distinguished audience of supporters and friends of Egypt.
At NBEUK, we are proud to support initiatives that promote cultural diplomacy and highlight Egypt’s enduring contributions to global civilisation. Our sincere thanks go to the Egyptian Embassy for hosting such an inspiring and memorable evening.
